Abstract
|
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) protects neuronal cells from amyloid-棺(A棺)-induced neurotoxicity in the brain of Alzheimer?셲 disease (AD) patient. However, the accumulation of VEGF in amyloid plaques may induce local VEGF deficiency and promote development of the disease. Here we investigated that A棺1-42 can interact with heparin binding domain (HBD) of VEGF using ProteoChip technology.
The ProteoChip-based A棺-VEGF interaction system has been used for screening of AD inhibitor. An inhibitor of A棺1-42-VEGF165 interaction using a ProteoChip-based screening method showed suppression of A棺1-42-induced neurotoxicity in human neuronal cells. |
